RESEARCH INTERESTS

Tectonics, erosion, sedimentation and chemical weathering work together to form the Earth's surface environment where we all live. I am interested in the response of the landscape to external forcing by the rise of mountains, sea level, ice sheets and civilizations and the feedbacks between tectonics, geomorphology, climate, and life on Earth.

My research is focused primarily on constraining rates of erosion, timing of ice sheet fluctuations and long-term climate change using geochemical techniques, field-based data, and spatial analysis (GIS). I am especially interested in testing hypotheses by coupling numerical models, theoretical predictions and geochemical tracers.  I also hope to work more to abate the effects of climate change and to clean up urban environments.
