| I am a Research Associate in the American Section of the University
of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. I have a Ph.D.
in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania,
specializing in the archaeology of South America. I also earned a B.A. in
History and a B.S. in Anthropology from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
My current research project focuses on the relationship between social organization and landscape in the Bolivian Amazon. The spatial pattern of archaeological sites and earthworks is related to the social organization of the people who built them. This research builds on ten years of research by the Agro-Archaeological Project of the Beni, under the direction of Clark L. Erickson.
