The purpose of this
electronic learning
portfolio, as stated to me by the MCEP Administrators.
The
purpose of my Penn STI electronic portfolio is
to provide the
administrators and instructors of the program an alternative means for
what and how I have learned and changed as a result of my experiences
throughout the Penn STI program. This e-portfolio is a
substantial
piece of technological work through which I can show my increase in
technological capabilities.
I have decided to maintain the organization of
my electronic portfolio by having my prospective class links at the top
of each individual webpage througout my website to make the
accessibility of pages much easier. Certain pieces of my work
that I decide to use to show evidence of my growth as a student,
learner, and a leader will be available under the E-portfolio
subheading on the left side of the E-portfolio webpages.
I currently enjoy teaching both science and
mathematics at Mastery
Charter High School. I was originally hired to teach mathematics;
however, I have taught physics in the past. During the 2006-2007
academic school year I will be teaching high school physics in addition
to several math courses to students in the eleventh and twelfth
grades.
I am an individual who is willing to do, "What ever
it takes." as
the Mastery saying goes to help best educate the students I come into
contact with. As an educator I expect the best my students have
to
produce even at times when they are ready to give up. Challenging
students at various academic levels within a single classroom is a
skill I have learned after teaching for numerous years. I very
much
like to explore new horizons personally and professionally to
experience a change from repetition.
I have always been the type of individual who takes
on
leadership roles
with the school environment. The MCEP courses have encouraged me
to
continue displaying those qualities by several of the assignments and
methods of teaching.
