WOMEN AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (WID). The WID Bulletin and WID Working Papers are now available on the WID Home Page: www.isp.msu.edu/wid/. WID is linked to approximately 200 well-known gender and development, and women's organizations, nationally and internationally.
WEST AFRICAN RESEARCH ASSOCIATION (WARA). WARA is offering three (3) 1999 Summer Minority Interships. Internships will be awarded to those who, in the judgment of the review panel, have demonstrated ability and potential to succeed in international studies, and have a genuine interest in African affairs. Students without previous foreign travel are encouraged to apply. Each internship will provide round trip travel to Madison, WI for three-day orientation, round-trip travel to West Africa for 4-6 weeks, and a cost of living stipend. The competition is open to U.S. citizens who are enrolled in M.A. programs. Application info can be obtained from WARA, 1414 Van Hise Hall, 1220 Linden Dr., U. Wisconsin, Madison, WI 53706. Two faculty research and teaching fellowships are also being offered by WARA for spring/summer 1999. Each fellowsip will provide round-trip airfare to West Africa and a stipend of $5,000 for 10-12 weeks. The deadline again is Dec. 15, 1998, and info is available from the WARA office in Madison.
