Friday, Jan. 24. Opening Reception. Panoramas of Passage: Changing Landscapes of South Africa. The work of 82 South African artists will be featured. Joseloff Gallery, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Ave. West Hartford. The opening reception will be from 6-8 p.m. Thereafter the show will run until March 3, 1997. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Tues-Fri; and noon-4 p.m. Sat/Sun.

Monday, Jan. 27. Talk. Houdita Moustafa (Harvard U.) Localizing the Global with the 'Ordinary Cosmopolitans': Dakorois Fashion, Multiple Layers and Stylized Debates. African Studies Center, Boston U. 270 Bay State Rd., noon-1:30 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 2. Opening Reception. Gakunju Kaigwa (Kenya). MK Gallery, 100 Grey Rock Place, Stamford, CT., 1-6 p.m. (Tel: 203-348-4860). Mr. Kaigwa is a sculptor from Nairobi.

Monday, Feb. 3. Reception. The MK Gallery will hold a reception for the Kenyan Ambassador to the U.S., Dr. Benjamin Kipkorir, from 4-6 p.m., in conjunction with the Kaigwa exhibit mentioned above.
