[stuff deleted] I only ask that you mention that the email version is not distributed via a listserv, but is managed by myself and NordNet staff. Mailings are done on a monthly basis. Each issue is mailed as soon as it is published on APC (on a bimonthly basis) and then an intermediary mailing is done one month later to incorporate new subscribers only. It is a primitive system but the best we can do at the moment.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and please keep up the great work with your lists.
Sincerely,
Everett Nelson
Assistant Editor

The Horn of Africa Bulletin (HAB) is a bimonthly international media
review, compiling and recording news and comments on the Horn of Africa.
HAB is an independent newsletter which attempts to cover events from
various (often opposing) perspectives. Each issue uses a wide variety
of primary and secondary sources: shortwave broadcasts, statements,
reports, articles, newsletters, and press releases.
HAB, which has been published by the Life & Peace Institute, Uppsala,
Sweden since 1989, is now available in electronic, as well as hardcopy
form.
ELECTRONIC ACCESS TO HAB:
** APC **
The Horn of Africa Bulletin (HAB) is available on APC networks under
the conference title "lpi.hab". APC access info for your country can be
made available at your request. Contact Everett Nelson
** THE HORNET **
HAB is now on THE HORNET in Addis Ababa! Call The Hornet 24 hours a day
at (+251) 1-514534. Set your communications software to N-8-1 (no
parity, data bits 8 and 1 stop bit). The Hornet supports 1200, 2400 and
9600 baud access. The service is free. If you get a busy signal, please
try again later - someone else is taking advantage of the fastest
growing electronic information and networking service in the Horn of
Africa. Contact Ben Parker (
** EMAIL **
The email version of HAB comes directly from our APC conference, and
therefore comes in about 50 separate email messages -- one message for
each topic/subheading. Although this may seem like a lot of mail,
remember that it comes only once every two months and is organized in
such a way that you can easily identify which messages are of interest
to you before downloading. Send your subscription request to Everett
Nelson
NOTE: The Life & Peace Institute does not require any subscription fee
for electronic versions of HAB, although donations are greatly
appreciated.
