Instructions for Graduates
Date and Time of the College of General Studies Graduation Ceremony
- Day: Sunday May 18, 2008
- Location: Hill Field, at the southeast corner of 34th and Chestnut Streets
- Assembly: 3:45 PM (in the tent next to the main ceremony tent on Hill Field) (See "What to Do When You Arrive")
- Ceremony: 4:30 PM to approximately 6:00 PM with Reception to follow
Important Note: Graduates, please make sure that you have applied for May 2008 graduation.
What to Wear
- Academic costume is required. Please order your regalia through the Penn Bookstore
- Do not wear high heels. You will be processing through Hill Field
- Do not bring any personal items that you do not intend to carry during the entire ceremony
- If it is very hot, wear light weight clothes under your academic robe.
What to Tell Your Guests
- Guests are not permitted in the student assembly area or the student seating area.
- Please be seated by 4:15PM
- Come to the reception immediately following the ceremony at the Inn at Penn located at 3600 Sansom Street. Please note there is a limit of 5 guests per graduating student for the reception.
What to Do When You Arrive
- Please look for signage on Hill Field for the CGS tents. CGS staff will be there to assist you.
Accessible Seating
- The tent where the ceremony will be held is accessible to guests with disabilities. Please call us at 215.898.7326 to inform us if any of your guests will require assistance. CGS staff will be on hand to help.
Severe Weather
- The College of General Studies graduation will be held rain or shine.
