Master of Medical Physics Program

Application Deadlines

Priority Admission Deadline: January 15
Regular Admission Deadline: March 1 (Applications will be accepted after this date only if the cohort is not full.)

Application

Applications may only be submitted through our online application system. To begin a new online application, click here. An application must contain all of the following in order to be considered complete:

  • Completed application form
  • A professional resume
  • Non-refundable application fee of $70.00 (Make checks payable to the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania)
  • Application essays
  • Official transcripts from each post-secondary school attended, sent directly to CGS address at left
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • GRE General Test score report
  • TOEFL score report, for applicants for whom English is not their primary language

Application Essays

Please respond to each of the following questions.  If you are submitting your essays online, please upload them together in one document. Number your essays clearly and begin each essay on a separate page. Responses may be as long or as short as you feel necessary.

  • Have you ever been placed on probation, dismissed or suspended from any college or university for reasons pertaining to academic integrity? If yes, please include any facts that you believe bear on the significance of this circumstance.
  • Please describe your career objectives and reasons for choosing the MMP program at Penn.

Letters of Recommendation

You must submit three letters of recommendation in support of your application. These should be from individuals with whom you have had a close professional or academic association and who know of your desire to study medical physics at an advanced level. Recommenders may complete their letters online or submit hard copy letters of recommendation. To submit online recommendations, follow the instructions in the Recommendations section of the online application. If your recommendations will not be submitted online, please complete the CGS cover sheet for letters of recommendation, give it to your references, and have them complete and attach the form to their letter. Standardized Test Scores

While the GRE General Test is required of all applicants, the Physics Subject Test or another Subject Test relevant to your undergraduate education is recommended.  Request that your score reports for the GRE General Test and any subject tests be forwarded to the College of General Studies using the ETS institutional code 2986.

Submit TOEFL scores if English is not your first language. Use the ETS code 2986 when requesting TOEFL scores. Applicants who have completed their post-secondary education in an institution where the instruction was in English do not have to submit TOEFL scores.
