Summer Programs for High School Students
Penn Summer Theatre Workshop
4 Weeks: July 6 - August 2, 2008
Led by the Director of Penn’s undergraduate Theatre Arts Program, this four-week, non-credit program offers intensive study of theatre performance. The curriculum is taught by Penn faculty, alumni holding advanced degrees or certificates, and theatre professionals.
Students in the program work directly with professional actors in areas such as acting technique, scene study, Shakespeare performance, Alexander technique, and musical theatre. During the final week of the program, students rehearse selected monologues, scenes, and musical numbers to be performed on the final night of the program in front of family and friends. Students also attend a variety of professional theatre performances in Philadelphia and New York City.
