CGS Online Learning

Course Delivery

CGS Online courses are completely internet-based, with lectures, threaded discussions, academic resources, and more available on the course web site. The course website pulls together all of the most effective tools for teaching over the internet and makes them available to instructors and students with an easy-to-use interface. Activities for CGS Online courses are broken into two categories:

Live Activities

Each week some class activity will occur in real time, via web conferencing with live chat in the online classroom. You will be able to see and hear your professor as he or she delivers course content and moderates discussions. In addition, both the professor and the teaching assistant are available on email for questions and extra help.

On Demand Activities

CGS Online courses allow you to learn where and when it is most convenient. You can participate in discussion groups using threaded discussion and web conferencing, review course content by watching media clips or viewing class notes, turn in homework and exams, and review your progress in the course via the class gradebook. All of these tools are available for you to use according to your own schedule. Should you experience any difficulties accessing your course, technical support is available 24 hours a day by email or by phone. Click here for information about technical requirements.
