Application Process - Pre-College and High School Students

The CGS application process consists of the parts listed below. Applications are processed on a rolling basis until the start of a semester. Notification is sent to applicants within 3 to 5 business days of receipt of all materials. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all application materials are received by CGS (to check on the status of your application materials, please call 215.898.5982). Access to a course may be delayed if materials are received less than one week prior to the start date of a semester.

Prospective students who have not previously applied for or taken a PennAdvance course must apply to the Young Scholars Program.

Your completed Young Scholars Application Must Also Include

  • High school transcript
  • PSAT or SAT test scores
  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor
  • Application fee of $70.00

All forms must include student's name and Social Security number.

Application fee can be paid by check or credit card. Please call the CGS Office if you wish to pay by credit card. If you wish to pay by check, please make check payable to the "Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania."

Transcripts, test scores, recommendation, and check for application fee must be sent to the following address:
