Non-Profit Professional Programs’ Reconfiguration
Since 1987 the University of Pennsylvania’s College of General Studies has offered an array of courses aimed at helping adults launch or continue successful careers in non profit organizations. Our certificates in Fundraising; Executive Administration; and Program Design, Management & Assessment graduated a number of our region’s non-profit professionals.
Just as our audiences are evolving to compete in new environments, we are evolving as we explore new ways of teaching advanced liberal and professional education, and the ways in which we can appeal to broader national and international audiences. Through initiatives to develop new programs and revitalize existing ones, we also hope to more closely align the School of Arts and Sciences’ intellectual strengths and Penn’s institutional resources with the needs of emerging professions and new audiences.
As such, we have phased out our existing courses and certificates in non-profit education with the goal of re-imagining them in online formats that will appeal to the needs of today’s busy working professional.
As we develop alternate ways of offering programs to reach broader audiences via online and hybrid course delivery models and move forward with other exciting future endeavors, we will continue to update this page. Please reach out to us with questions or provide us with your contact information for future updates at specprog@sas.upenn.edu.
We appreciate your support and interest in the non-profit programming at the University of Pennsylvania’s College of General Studies.
