  • Curriculum Requirements: Students to register for one 2-CU course or two 1-CU courses.
  • Courses Offered:

    • Spanish 134: Accelerated Intermediate Spanish (2 CUs)
    • Spanish 212: Advanced Spanish Syntax (1 CU)
    • Spanish 226/326: Spanish Culture and Civilization (1 CU)
    • Spanish 227/327: Contemporary Spain (from 1868 to the present)
    • Complete Curriculum
  • Housing: Students live with Spanish families in order to experience full linguistic and cultural immersion.

    $2,485.

    Tuition: $2,741 per CU
    Tuition and fees are subject to the approval of the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania. The figures listed are proposed rates and are subject to change. Final rates for Summer 2008 will be published in April.

    The February 15 application deadline has been extended. We will continue to receive applications until the program is full.

Program fee includes room and partial board, internet fee, and local health insurance.

For students interested in the language, literature, and culture of Spain, this program, offered at the Universidad de Alicante, one of Spain's newest and most modern universities, combines classroom instruction, homestay with Spanish families, and opportunities to visit many points of cultural and historical interest.

This program is directed by Professor José M. Regueiro, Undergraduate Chair for Spanish in the Department of Romance Languages.
