Penn-in-Compiègne, France
Main | Description | Curriculum
All students must register for two CUs.
The purpose of this course is to enhance student’s ability to write and speak effectively in French and to provide practical training in the use of French language materials dealing with business and technology. (1 CU)
This course, conducted entirely in French, will introduce students to the organization, structure, and culture of the French workplace. Particular attention will be paid to the presentation of production as a set of human, material and financial resources and the examination of various policies and management techniques as they affect personnel relations. These topics will be discussed in a comparative perspective. Students will visit several large multinational companies to observe concepts studied in the classroom. (1 CU)
Both courses can be used in a French major or minor at Penn.
French 298/Sociology 298 may be used for the International Relations major in the College and for the Global Environment requirement in the Wharton School.
Note for non-Penn students: One CU is generally considered to be equivalent to three semester hours in cases in which Penn coursework is transferred to another institution.
