- Program Profile: For students interested in East Asia, Korea, international relations, and business. One month of academic coursework followed by internships at multinational corporations, government agencies, and think tanks for qualified students.
- Program Dates: June 26 – August 20, 2008
- Curriculum Requirements: Students to register for 2 CUs / both courses offered.

- History 391: The Korean War and Its Legacies for U.S.-Korean Relations (1 CU)
- Political Science 298: Politics and Economics of Korea (1 CU)

- Housing: Students will live in dormitory housing at Khung Hee University during the coursework period (June 26 – July 27). Internship housing will be arranged in Seoul in consultation with the program director.

Program Fee: $1,050
Program fee covers housing for the first month of coursework, program activities and excursions
Tuition: $2,741 per CU
Tuition and fees are subject to the approval of the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania. The figures listed are proposed rates and are subject to change. Final rates for Summer 2008 will be published in April.
Books & Materials:
Students are expected to purchase the required books and course packs of duplicated readings in advance of arrival in Seoul. Due to the intensive nature of the program, students are expected to have the reading (or a majority of the reading) done in advance of their arrival in Seoul and the start of the program.

The Center for Korean Studies: Summer 2008 Scholarships
The Center for Korean Studies of the University of Pennsylvania is pleased to offer four undergraduate scholarships of $1500 each to be used for study in South Korea. The scholarships are available to Penn students, and may be used for study in the Penn-in-Seoul program or for study in a formal program of education at a Korean university. Applicants should submit their completed paper applications to the Center for East Asian Studies, Williams Hall 642, by 5 p.m., Friday, April 14th. Awards will be announced by Friday, April 18th.
