Summer Only - Visiting Students
An application must contain all of the following in order to be considered complete:
- Completed application
- Non-refundable application fee of $70.00 (Make checks payable to the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania).
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. If you completed less than two years of liberal arts work at the college level (approximately 16 courses in literature, philosophy, history, sociology, science, mathematics, etc.), you must submit a photocopy of either your high school transcript OR a score report for standardized test scores (SAT or ACT)
- In the space provided for a personal statement, indicate which courses you wish to pursue using the following format: DEPT 123 9xx, Course Title
- Resume

While a personal statement is not required, you may answer the following question if you feel that your academic background does not reflect your ability:
Write a brief essay describing your academic and personal goals and explain how these will be furthered by study at Penn in general and at CGS in particular. Feel free to discuss a specific academic topic you have enjoyed studying and explain why it is of interest to you.
If you are a Penn staff member applying to Summer Sessions only, the application fee is waived. In order to submit your online application without the application fee, please indicate that you are paying the fee by check, and we will waive the fee when processing your application.
