About the Guide to Elm at Penn

Elm is the terminal-to-host-based e-mail system recommended for widespread student use by Penn's campus-wide Electronic Mail Task Force, organized by the Office of Information Systems and Computing in 1991-92. The version of Elm described in this manual reflects parameter settings and added features recommended by the Task Force.

Elm is used and supported in almost every School and in many departments at Penn. Fee for service Elm accounts are available from Data Communications and Computing Services (DCCS). For more information, contact the PennNet Help Desk, 898-8171 or help@dccs.upenn.edu.
