A major or minor in Afro-American Studies (AFAMS) can enhance one's ability to understand the social and cultural aspects of work in fields such as business, teaching, counseling, social service, medicine, and law. Students who wish to major or minor in AFAMS should visit the Afro-American Studies Program office for information on application procedures.
