"Many of the ugly pages of American
history have been obscured and forgotten...America owes a
debt of justice which it has only begun to pay. If it loses
the will to finish or slackens in its determination, history
will recall its crimes and the country that would be great
will lack the most indispensable element of greatness--justice."
-Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr.
Inaugurated in 2002, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lecture
in Social Justice is an annual event typically held in January
during the University ‘s celebration of the life and legacy
of Dr. King. This lecture highlights a person and/or scholar
of African descent, who has committed themselves to the
field of social justice.
