Jane Sancinito is a fifth year student in the Ancient History Graduate Group. She received her B.A. Hons. in Literae Humaniores (Classics) from Oxford University in 2011. She was a participant in the American Numismatic Society summer seminar in 2015 and has been a member of the FLAME (Framing the Late Antique and early Medieval Economy) Project since 2013. In 2015, she received the Dean’s Award for Distinguished Teaching and in the 2016-2017 academic year Jane will serve as a graduate fellow for the Center for Teaching and Learning.
Her dissertation, Merchants in the Later Roman Empire, focuses on the social and economic lives of merchants from the 2nd to 4th centuries CE. Her research interests include Roman social history, ancient economic history, and ancient numismatics.
