What is the Undergraduate Anthropology Society?

The UAS is putting together fun and intellectual anthro-related events throughout the semester. In the past we have organized film screenings, trips to museum exhibits in Philadelphia, academic workshops and other social events.

Join the UAS! Whether you are just starting to get interested in Anthropology, or you are already a major or minor: the UAS welcomes students to get involved at any point in their undergrad years! Elections are held each December, and you must be active in the UAS prior to running for a position on board. Please contact current Chair, Benny Laitman laitman@sas.upenn.edu with any questions or comments.

Who's currently on the UAS? Look under the "UAS Members" section on the Topics List here: http://penn-undergrad-anthro-activities.blogspot.com/

Calling All Senior Thesis Writers: This year we've put the spotlight on a workshop series for seniors who are writing theses. Need to refine your thesis topic, get IRB approval, build a theoretical frame, conduct quantitative analysis or figure out how to best display data and images? Join us!

To All Students: Get Published Now! The UAS is currently looking for submissions for the Fall issue of In Situ: The Penn Anthropology Undergraduate Journal. Please submit a final paper from a class, an article about your independent research, photographs from anthropology-related endeavors, or a personal essay regarding reflections and experiences on the anthropology lifestyle. Submissions are due in early November. Look for details on flyers posted in the Anthropology Department or contact Brandi Waters brandimw@sas.upenn.edu for more details.
