Cultural and psychological anthropology; U.S.--historical and contemporary ethnography; the American West; the Latter-day Saints; Native American Indian Peoples; social organization and cultural values; life history analysis; mental health; psychological trauma and cultural response. Current work: ethnography of the Latter-day Saints; psychological trauma; native peoples.
