I am pursuing a PhD in linguistic anthropology, investigating the intersection between language and music, in relationship to lyrics and performance. I am especially interested in the usages of code-switching within music, and its significance  for the negotiation of identity among immigrants. My M.A. research focused on the musical performances of African immigrants in Tel Aviv and their interaction with local audiences.
