Faculty member, Dr. Pat McGovern, confirms earliest known example of winemaking in the world!

In an outstanding discovery, Anthropology faculty member, Dr. Patrick McGovern, has confirmed the earliest known evidence for grape fermentation originating from the Southern Caucuses.  As Scientific Director of the Biomolecular Archaeology Project for Cuisine, Fermented Beverages and Health, Dr. McGovern's analyses have pushed the archaeological record for wine making back 600-1000 years to 6000 B.C.E., an announcement with far reaching affects on future scholarship.
