Lyndon K. Gill was born and raised in New York City. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with a B.A. in African & African American Studies. He received his Ph.D. in African American Studies and Anthropology (with a Secondary Field in Studies of Women, Gender & Sexuality) from Harvard University. Currently a postdoctoral fellow in Anthropology and Africana Studies at Penn, Dr. Gill has also held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Princeton University’s Center for African American Studies. In the fall of 2012, Dr. Gill will be an Assistant Professor of African & African Diaspora Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. He is currently teaching a seminar on Black Queer Studies, and will teach "Erotic Subjectivity" in the spring 2012 semester. Read more about Dr. Gill’s spring course here.
