David Young Kim's recently released book, The Traveling Artist in the
Italian Renaissance: Geography, Mobility, and Style, is shortlisted for
the 2015 Ralph Waldo Emerson Book Prize. Established in 1960, The Ralph
Waldo Emerson Award honors scholarly studies that contribute
significantly to interpretations of the intellectual and cultural
condition of humanity, including works in the fields of history,
philosophy and religion as well as such fields as anthropology and the
