Our footsteps took us the other day to a campus building we’d often passed but never entered. A short climb up a short flight of steps to a welcoming veranda soon found us at the front door, where a quick swipe of a PennCard gave entry to the large and gracious two-story reading room of the Fisher Fine Arts Library. The most remarkable feature of the room comes from the light that floods in from large windows near the ceiling and spills over the tables and comfortable chairs below. The aroma of old books suffuses the entire structure.
