The Penn Humanities Forum continues its 2011-2012 programming with a lively series of events on Adaptations between the arts, across disciplines, and around the world. Charles Darwin focused the world’s attention on life as a process of adaptation and the unending dance of adjustment and transformation in organisms, species, and environments. But, as the Forum’s organizers point out, adaptation is not limited to the natural sciences; cultural forms would perish if they could not adapt.

Penn Symphony Orchestra Concert Features Liszt and Brahms on February 25

Carol Muller, Professor of Music, Will Address Penn LPS Graduating Class

Carol Muller, Ph.D., Professor of Music and Senior Ethnomusicologist in the Graduate Anthropology Group at the University of Pennsylvania, will address graduating students at the College of Liberal and Professional Studies Graduation Ceremony on Sunday, May 15, 2011.

A native of South Africa, Dr. Muller earned her Ph.D. at New York University. She is a highly published scholar and specialist in South African music, critical ethnography, comparative religion, gender studies, diaspora, and historiography.
