Treating Cancer Using Proton Therapy with Dr. Stephen Avery, University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Avery is the director of the Master of Medical Physics program and an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. In this video, Dr. Avery discusses treating cancer using proton therapy and creating a dedicated PET device. He also takes you on a tour of the cyclotron at The Roberts Proton Therapy Center.
The Master of Medical Physics Program, offered through Penn’s College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS), is a multidisciplinary medical physics program, combining courses from the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the School of Arts & Sciences and the Departments of Radiology and Radiation Oncology in the School of Medicine.
