Overview of Requirements

Total Graduation Requirement: 36 credit units: (including Social Science and Humanities requirements and 1 credit unit of Living World General requirement). There is an 18 credit unit major requirement. This program with the College General Education Curriculum automatically satisfies all of the undergraduate course suggestions or requirements for entry into medical schools.

 

  Freshman/Sophomore
2 Credits Calculus, 2 semesters (Math 104,114 or 140,141)
3 Credits General Chemistry (Chem 101 or 15, 102 or 16), 2 semesters with laboratory (Chem 53,54)
3 Credits General Physics with calculus (Phys 150 or 170, 151 or 171), 2 semesters with laboratory
   
  Sophomore/Junior
3 Credits Organic Chemistry, 2 semesters (Chem 241, 242) with 1 semester laboratory (Chem 245)
   
  Junior/Senior
2 Credits Physical Chemistry, 2 semesters (Chem 221,222)
3 Credits Biochemistry/Biophysics/and Gene Expression, 3 semesters (Chem 251, 451, 452)
2 Credits Research in Selected Faculty Laboratories, 2 semesters (Biochem 404)
