How-To's for the Logan Hall 237 Lab

Logging into Windows Vista with your PennKey:

1.  Press 'Control + Alt + Delete', a message will appear instructing the proper login procedure.  Press 'Enter' to accept and continue.

2.  Enter a PennKey in the form of  'UPENN.EDU\pennkey' (without the quotes), then provide the PennKey password.

3.  If the password is correct and entered correctly, the login attempt will succeed and the user will see the Windows Vista desktop.

4.  Please log off of Windows when finished working.

Print to the lab printer using the duplex unit. (MS Word, and Adobe Reader)

1.  From within Microsoft Word 2007, choose the logo menu and select 'Print', or just press 'Control + P'.

2.  The print dialog box will appear.  Make sure the selected printer is the 'Lab Printer', then click the 'Properties' button to the right.

3.  Navigate to the 'Finishing' tab and choose 'Both Sides'  there are some options to choose regarding the print layout, however the default setting will suffice for most.

4.  Close the properties dialog box and click 'Print' in the print dialog box and be patient.  Each page must be printed twice by the duplexer.

5.  Adobe Reader works in the same way as it uses the same printer driver as MS Word, and the results should mirror the desired effect.
