How do I change my mail.sas password?

The instructions on this page will help you if you know your password and want to change it. If, on the other hand, you have forgotten your mail.sas password and you cannot login, see our page on fixpass. Fixpass allows you to change your mail.sas password as long as you know your PennKey and password.

VIA THE SAS ACCOUNT CONFIGURATION PAGE

  1. Go to the SAS Account Configuration page and log in.
  2. Click on Change Password.
  3. Enter your current password.
  4. Enter your new password.
  5. Enter your new password again.
  6. Click submit.
  7. The new password will be effective in 20 minutes.

OR

VIA TELNET/SSH

First, connect to mail.sas. Then, you can change your mail.sas password through the [SETTINGS MENU] on mail.sas. To enter this menu, type "settings" at the [MAIN MENU] prompt.

You will now see something like this:

menus on|off - Enable/Disable menus at logon [ON]

signature on|off|edit - Enable/Disable/Edit automatic signature [ON]
makehome - Create/Add a WWW home page
unlisthome - Unlist your home page
main - Return to main menu
logout - End this session

Use ' on' to enable a setting, ' off' to disable it, and ' edit' to change the text associated with a setting.

Enter a menu command, or press enter to redisplay the settings menu
[SETTINGS MENU] %

Type passwd at the prompt.

You will be prompted for your old and then for your new password. This new password will be active in about 20 minutes.
