Migrating Departmental/Project Web Sites from CCAT to Facstaff
Departmental and project web sites hosted on the CCAT server will be migrated to the web-facstaff server on June 29, 2009. All CCAT URL's will continue to work after the migration - but, we do recommend testing your sites on the 29th to ensure that everything is working as it should be.
You'll just need a facstaff account with shell access enabled to edit your departmental/project page.
If you have a facstaff account, but have never used it to edit web pages, you can enable shell access on your account by going to http://www.sas.upenn.edu/facstaff/account, logging in with your facstaff username and password, and selecting the "Shell Account" link from the left navigation bar (if it's not there, you already have shell access enabled and are ready to go!). Then, check the box and click the "'ENABLE SHELL ACCOUNT" button.
If you don't have a facstaff account, please contact your department's local support provider about getting access.
Once you have a shell-enabled facstaff account, you'll need to point your SSH/SFTP client to web-facstaff:
host name: web-facstaff.sas.upenn.edu
username: your facstaff username
password: your facstaff email password
path: /www-ccat/data/[folder name of your site]
Examples of path changes:
| Path before migration |
Path after migration |
| /www/data/ccat/roml |
/www-ccat/data/ccat/roml |
| /www/data/southasia | /www-ccat/data/southasia |
If you need any help with getting set up to access your web site, please contact your department's local support provider.
