Retirement of the ccat.sas server - Others

The following FAQ provides information on the retirement of the ccat.sas server as it relates to CCAT account holders that are not current SAS faculty, staff, or students. CCAT will be retired on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. SAS Computing will do its best to transition everyone off of the server as smoothly as possible.

FAQ for SAS Others

When will the CCAT server be retired?

CCAT will be retired on Tuesday, June 16, 2009.

Will I still be able to receive email sent to my @ccat address?

Mail sent to your CCAT account can be forwarded to an account of your choosing for 6 months from the date of the server's retirement. You can find more information on this in the following questions. This includes all of the domains hosted on CCAT, including:
classics.upenn.edu
corinth.sas.upenn.edu
dept.arthistory.upenn.edu
humanities.sas.upenn.edu
mec.sas.upenn.edu
phil.upenn.edu
philae.sas.upenn.edu
southasiacenter.upenn.edu

I got a message saying that I am not an active SAS faculty, staff, or a student. That's not correct.  What should I do?

Please fill out our email help form and let us know what your current status is.

What if I'm forwarding mail sent to my @ccat account to another account (e.g. Gmail)?

If you're already forwarding mail from your @ccat account to another account (e.g. GMail), your mail will continue to forward for 6 months from the date of the server's retirement.

If you would like to save any of the mail or other data in your CCAT account, we will provide an archive of your account for download after your account is closed.

What if I read my email on CCAT (i.e. I'm not forwarding to another account)?

When CCAT is retired, mail sent to your @ccat account can be forwarded to another account of your choosing for 6 months. If you're not already forwarding your ccat email to another address, please fill out our email help form and let us know where you would like your mail to be forwarded. Please make sure to do this before June 16 so as to avoid any lapse in mail delivery.

Once your CCAT account has been closed, an archive of your account will be available for download.

What will happen to my mail, homepage or other files stored in my CCAT account?

Yes, shortly after your CCAT account is closed on June 16, an archive will be available for download at:
http://www.sas.upenn.edu/archive/pennkey
where "pennkey" is your PennKey username.
