What happens to my email account after I graduate?

This page contains information on managing your SAS email account after graduation.

 

Please select your email account type:

  • Accounts on the Mail.SAS ("Webmail") System
  • Penn Live accounts
  • Forwarding to another account (e.g. GMail)


    Information for Mail.SAS Account Holders

    Mail.sas accounts will expire the October following graduation.

    Up until the point when your account is expired, you will still be able to log into mail.sas and access any messages that are stored there. You will receive a warning e-mail message before your account expires.

    We suggest that you set your SAS email address to forward to another address. Mail sent to your SAS email address will continue to forward to an address of your choosing for 1 year after graduation.

    If you already have forwarding set up, you do not have to do
    anything, but if you want either to set up forwarding or to change your
    forwarding address, please go to:

    If you are interested in a life-time Penn based e-mail address, that forwards e-mail to an address of your choice, join the Penn Alumni Online Community. 

    After your mail.sas account has been closed, an archive will be available for download at:

    http://www.sas.upenn.edu/archive/[your pennkey]

    You will need your PennKey and PennKey password to access the archive.

  • Information for Penn Live Account Holders

    Penn Live accounts will remain active after graduation. Later in the year, the account will be changed to an alumni account. More information will be sent as the time approaches.

    If you have any mail that you need in your old, mail.sas account, you can migrate it to your Penn Live account. Please note that your account on the old, mail.sas system will expire the October following graduation.

    Information for Students Forwarding to an External Account (e.g. GMail)

    Mail sent to your SAS email address will continue to forward an external service for 1 year after graduation. Please note that your account on the old, mail.sas system will expire the October following graduation.
