Differences between Mail.SAS and Facstaff.SAS Accounts
If you are a faculty or staff member of the School of Arts and Sciences, you are eligible for an email account
on the facstaff.sas.upenn.edu server.
Differences between Facstaff.SAS accounts and Mail.SAS accounts include the following:

- Inbox quota of 25mb, home directory quota of 40mb

- Inbox size limited to 250 MB; Virtually unlimited quota for all
other mail folders

- Webmail, IMAP and POP access available

- Webmail and IMAP access only

- Personal website and command line access through shell into mail.sas.upenn.edu
|
- Personal website and command line access through shell into web‑facstaff.sas.upenn.edu
|
- Command line mail readers available: Mutt, Pine, Elm (not recommended)
|
- Command line mail readers available: Mutt
|
- Management of departmental websites, if needed, can be done with normal personal mail.sas login
|
- Management of departmental websites requires a separate login for site management unless/until the departmental
site is also migrated to the new server
|
Note:
- Your email address will be pennkey@sas.upenn.edu regardless of which server hosts your account.
- You can use both Webmail and native clients (e.g. Eudora, Thunderbird, Outlook, etc.) regardless of which server hosts your account
- Any specific questions should be directed to your LSP
