This table summarizes the standard options for new Windows computers provided through the SAS Computing allocations process for standing faculty only.

Software includes: Microsoft Office Professional, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, Secure CRT, Filezilla, Meeting Maker, and Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) in managed mode (laptops have SEP in unmanaged mode).

Differences between the standard desktop option and the high end desktop option are highlighted in red. Differences between the standard laptop and the high end laptop are highlighted in blue.

Notes
1.  DT = Desktop chassis. This chassis does not allow for the addition of extra drives. A Minitower option is available for those who will need more expandability.

2.  Lead times may vary, depending on availability from supplier, workloads, special projects, etc. Please check with us at time of order for current lead times.

3.  When choosing a Windows laptop, for an additional cost, you may request a port replicator. In addition, a lighter-weight laptop option is also available. Please check with us for the current options.
