SAS Computing Windows Options List

This table summarizes the standard options for new Windows computers provided through the SAS Computing allocations process for standing faculty only.

Current technology presents cost and performance trade-offs that should be reviewed with your local computing support provider (LSP) to ensure that you choose the computer that will best meet your requirements. The computer options below reflect a range of possible choices. If none of them provide the configuration you require, your LSP can help you choose a customized configuration.

Windows Options

Windows 7 or 10 Enterprise 64-bit operating system.
(See Supported Desktop Operating Systems for more information.)


Software includes: Microsoft Office Professional, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Secure CRT, Filezilla, and Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) in managed mode (laptops have SEP in unmanaged mode).

1. SFF = Small Form Factor chassis. This does not allow for the addition of extra drives. A "Minitower" option is available for those who will need more expandability.

3. Lead times may vary, depending on availability from supplier, workloads, special projects, etc. Please check with us at time of order for current lead times.

4. Extra cost may change + or - $100 or so depending on current Dell pricing.
