Faculty and Staff Computing Help

General Computing Support

General computing help for faculty and staff is provided on-site and via email by your Local Support Provider (LSP). If you do not know your LSP, you can find out who that is here: LSP Listing

A listing of services provided by SASC and pertinent forms can be found here.

SAS Email Services

Faculty and staff of the School of Arts and Sciences are eligible for email accounts. Prior to 2006, those accounts were on the Mail.SAS server. In 2006, the majority of SAS faculty and staff were migrated to the new Facstaff.SAS server. All new accounts created in 2006 or later are on the Facstaff.SAS server. If you are a Facstaff.SAS user, your help is here:

Facstaff.SAS Help

If you had a Mail.SAS account prior to 2006 and for some reason it was never migrated, then you are still on Mail.SAS. If you are a Mail.SAS user, your help is here:

Mail.SAS Help

Windows AD Accounts

SAS faculty and staff need Windows accounts to access many network resources, including departmental shared drives and individual storage spaces on the main fileserver (U:\ drive), both of which are backed up nightly. Additionally, your Windows account may be used to log into any computer on campus that is part of the SAS network, and sometimes to grant specific access permissions (e.g. to a shared Filemaker database). Standing faculty do not require supervisory approval; all other faculty and staff Windows accounts should be requested by the supervisor. In all cases, requests should be made using this form:

New Windows AD Account

Meeting Maker Accounts

SAS Computing provides a shared calendaring service via Meeting Maker software. Meeting Maker comes installed on all SAS machines, and allows individual calendar scheduling and group meeting organization. People, locations, and resources (e.g. projectors, laptops, etc.) can all have accounts, and meetings can be scheduled with all three to both invite individuals and block out time with a room or resource. More information about Meeting Maker is available here. All Meeting Maker account requests should be made using this form:

New Meeting Maker Account

Windows/Meeting Maker Account Alteration

In the event of a faculty/staff relocation or departure, the Windows and Meeting Maker accounts of the individual will have to be altered or closed. These requests should be made in cooperation with the LSP, by the individual's supervisor, using the following forms:

Change a Windows AD and/or Meeting Maker Account
Close a Windows AD and/or Meeting Maker Account
