June 2012 Penn Live Update
As of 6/12/12, Penn will terminate its contractual relationship with Microsoft for the Penn Live service. After 6/12/12, your Penn Live account will continue to work as before in most respects:
* You can still log in at http://mail.live.com with your SAS email address as username and your current Penn Live password.
* All of your existing messages, settings and contacts will remain intact.
However, as of 6/12/12 you will no longer be able to reset your Penn Live password by using your PennKey, and computing support staff from Penn will not be able to reset your password for you. It’s important that you review and update your Penn Live security settings so you’ll be able to use the Microsoft tools for doing password resets in the future.
For instructions on how to update your security settings, please visit http://www.sas.upenn.edu/computing/help/pennlive-security
For currently enrolled SAS students using Penn Live:
Active students can continue sending SAS email to Penn Live through the end of 2012. However, all active Penn students will need to switch to Google@SAS or select another forwarding destination for their SAS email by January 2013. We encourage you to change your email delivery before the start of the 2012-2013 school year. See our Email Options page for additional information
After January 2013, you will still be able to log into your Penn Live account to access old messages; you just won't be able to have new mail delivered to Penn Live.
For alumni and others who are no longer active Penn students, but still using Penn Live:
In 2013, SAS Computing will contact alumni and other Penn Live users who are no longer actively enrolled students. At that time, we'll provide information about new email services for alumni. Until that time, mail sent to your @sas.upenn.edu email address will continue to be delivered to your Penn Live account.
