Overview of Multi-Media Services

Multi-Media Services is part of the Instructional Technology group of SAS Computing. We provide the following services to faculty, students and staff in support of the academic mission of the School of Arts and Sciences:

Computer labs and multi-media workstations. The Multi-Media Services facility is home to 3 computer labs that are available to all valid PennCard holders. Some labs may be reserved by SAS instructors for class sessions. Other multi-media workstations may be reserved by students to use for their course work. Additional information is available on the Multi-Media Services Facilities page.

AV support for special events. Multi-Media Services provides equipment or staff in support of academic special events such as special lectures and symposia. In some cases, Multi-Media Services will perform the services directly; other times we will help coordinate with outside service providers. If you are planning a special event that requires technology support, you can make a request using our online form. If you have any questions, please contact us at reserve@sas.upenn.edu so we can help you prepare an appropriate technology plan. 3-5 business days advance notice is required. Fees may apply.

Equipment loan. Our inventory of portable media equipment is available for carry-out loans. 3-5 business days advance notice is required. Details available on the Equipment Loan page.

Media Services. Our equipment and staff are available for a variety of media services including: duplication/conversion, streaming media hosting, videoconferencing, webcasts, and production of original materials. Additional information is available on the Media Services page.
