Computer Labs

A full list of public computing labs at Penn is available at http://www.upenn.edu/computing/view/labs/lablist.html

The David B. Weigle Information Commons in the Van Pelt Dietrich Library is specially designed to support collaborative learning and group activities using the latest technologies. The Commons includes group study spaces outfitted with computers and large displays and the Vitale Digital Media Lab, which has hardware and software for multi-media projects. The Commons also hosts a variety of academic support services, workshops and special events.

The Language Resource Center (LRC) is located in 440 Williams Hall and has a broad range of equipment available.. Although the primary users are faculty and graduate students in foreign language departments, the facility is open to all SAS Faculty and their assistants. The LRC is not a general purpose computer lab, and is not open to undergraduates or the general Penn community. Faculty who have student assistants working on their projects should introduce those students to LRC staff.

Multi-Media Services is located in the basement of DRL. Facilities include computer labs, video editing, desktop publishing, and a studio for webcasts and videoconferences, as well as an equipment loan service. Most resources are available SAS faculty, students and staff.
