SAS Computing is an active partner in the SAS teaching and research mission. We prioritize communication and collaboration across the organization and across Penn. We recognize a dual responsibility to keep the current technology of the school running smoothly and to build new capabilities by connecting faculty and staff with people, services, and solutions that enable new kinds of teaching and research.  

We invest in solutions and training which allow our teams to keep things running smoothly by replacing repetitive tasks with automation. We believe that our staff thrive when they have the opportunity to develop and use their talents on projects where they feel a direct connection to the SAS and Penn mission. We link technology to mission by building enduring relationships with individual faculty and staff and devoting the time needed to understand their work. 

We train, empower, and expect every member of the team to shepherd ideas from requests to tested solutions, getting the right people and technologies involved in a fast and flexible manner. We begin from the assumption that we can find a solution, and we move as quickly as we can to get solid answers. We remain agile by encouraging every member of the team to initiate and test new ideas by creating and leading exploratory teams. We actively seek feedback and respond with process improvement while remaining true to these values.
