Programming
SCG hires and manages programmers and data analysts to work on
grant-funded projects. Penn researchers can contract with programmers
through SCG.
Proposals
SCG facilitates proposal development. The Group maintains
a current description of statistical computing capabilities at
Penn. The Group provides data security specifications. SCG also
contributes sections to proposals about how the computing environment
can facilitate the execution of an analysis plan.
Data Acquisition
SCG, in conjunction with Van Pelt Library, obtains data
from Penn-subscribed consortia such as ICPSR.
Statistical Software
SCG helps researchers to run statistical software such
as SAS and Stata. SCG helps users to identify software options
to perform analysis. The Group maintains a database of statistical
software that is available in the labs at Penn.
Training Seminars
SCG conducts training seminars about statistical software.
SCG also offers seminars on other software including e-mail and
web maintenance.
