We're co-sponsoring THATCamp@Penn 2012, an "unconference" for people interested in technology and the humanities.
THATCamp@Penn provides an opportunity for faculty, graduate students and academic professionals in different disciplines — and with diverse backgrounds, roles, skills and interests — from across campus to meet in person for a day of informal discussion and collaboration.
The Weigle Information Commons (WIC) invites you to a day of exploring gadgets. They will host their Spring 2012 Gadget Day on Wednesday, April 11. The day's program will feature Apple iPads but also include tips for using Firefox, several mobile phones, Tumblr and scanning.
It's easy to conduct a Skype call in most classrooms. As an instructor, you can use Skype to bring in a guest speaker, or can use it for times when you can't make it to class and need to teach from a remote location.
The fourth annual Engaging Students Through Technology October 28, 2011 10am - 2:30pm
The 2011 symposium tackles two broad questions:
How should I use technology, in my classroom and outside my classroom, to engage my students?
How should I manage the technology (laptops, smart phones, tablets, etc.) that my students bring to my classroom?
The symposium includes a faculty panel, a student panel, lunch, discussion and hands-on sessions. Registration is open for Penn faculty and instructors. Interested graduate students can email firstname.lastname@example.org to be included on a space-available basis. Register now!
