My most memorable public speaking experience: When I was competing at a speech tournament in high school I accidentally slipped an expletive into my speech (after a minor mess-up). I didn't even notice until my teammate told me! In a later round, I did it again! It was ok though; apparently I only mouthed the word and so the judge didn't really notice. OOPS!
I became a CWiC advisor because: I believe a great speech can change the world (sappy, right?). I think every person should be provided with the resources necessary to become an effective communicator. Essentially, I wanted to help others help themselves through the role of public speaking advisor.
