At the University of Pennsylvania we show great pride in the history and tradition of both our university and the surrounding Philadelphia area. We consider ourselves to be a cohesive part of the greater Philadelphia community and strive to have many resources available to our students and faculty to reach out to the people around us. Below are some of the community projects we have on campus as well as some interesting facts about the University of Pennsylvania and the wonderful city in which it is located, Philadelphia.

- Founded in 1740
- Benjamin Franklin later transformed Penn into what would become the nation’s first modern liberal arts school

- Franklin Field - The oldest collegiate football field still in use and the first double-decked stadium, which holds the renowned event, Penn Relays, every spring
