Speaking Center
CWiC offers walk-in hours at the Weigle Information Commons when classes are in session. During Speaking Center hours, CWiC speaking advisors are available to assist you with any stage of a presentation.
The Speaking Center is closed for the summer and will reopen in September.
NOTE: If you are in a CWiC affiliate course, then you must meet with the advisor assigned to your course. The Speaking Center advisors work with students not enrolled in affiliate courses.

What sort of presentations can advisors help with?
Advisors work with just about any type of oral presentation. We can help with individual presentations and group presentations. We can also help with workshop topics, including managing anxiety and debate strategies. Advisors are prepared to work with students of all experience levels and at any point in the preparation process, from defining a thesis to final polishing.
What can I expect?
In your session you will can deliver your presentation and discuss it with the advisor. Depending on your needs, though, the session might instead explore how to start composing a talk or analyze a specific element of your presentation. In all cases, before coming to the Center consider your presentation's purpose and audience so you can explain your goals to the advisor.
In general, advice will focus on the thesis, support (including visual support) and organization of your presentation. Advisors can also discuss your delivery and style. Be sure to tell your advisor about any specific concerns you want to address. It's your session.
