Sedimentary Rocks

Examples of sedimentary rocks include: Arkose, Banded Chert, Bitumous Coal, Breccia, Conglomerate, Chalk, Coquina, Siltstone, Shale, Sandstone, Salt, Fosforliferous Limestone and Rock Gypsum.

Seiments form from chemical and mechanical weathering of earth materials. Sedimentary rocks form from the compaction and hardening of sediments, or when masses of mineral crystals precipitate from aqueous solution.
