Check out Lauren Sallan's TED talk...

As was noted in earlier EES news, Lauren Sallan was selected as a 2017 TED Fellow; joining a class of 15 innovators from around the world who delivered talks on the TED stage in April in Vancouver, B.C.  Sallan is a paleobiologist who uses “big data” to understand how global events, environmental change, and ecological interactions shaped evolution and modern biodiversity.  You can watch a video of Lauren's talk, entitled:  How to win at evolution and survive a mass extinction at this link: https://www.ted.com/talks/lauren_sallan_how_to_win_at_evolution_and_survive_a_mass_extinction
