Research Interests

My scientific research is focused in the area of paleobiology. I study the past interactions of fossil organisms and how these changed over geologic timescales. A large part of my research is devoted to learning how to read the trace-fossil record, an historical archive of animal behavior.

I also study the history of the natural sciences, particularly the contributions of Philadelphia area naturalists and the development of scientific collections.
